transmitter antenna

Default transmitter antenna

OK I might be a little hard on my trans. But now my antenna has broken off , Q uestion now is I have one that is a little shorter and the one my super cub came with, what if any will it matter, from the zook

Can you measure her and see what the actual length is. I have so many extra antennas it isn't funny. I'm not sure what the difference in length will be friend, as I have never had that happen to me. I would imagine if it's only by an inch or so, it wouldn't be too bad.

If you need an extra one, let me know the length and I'll see if I have one that will suit you. I have 2 males: 44" and a 42 1/2", and a female: 37 1/2". Good luck to you Zook.

Yes, it will matter in at least two ways. Your range will be reduced due to the shorter antenna.

You can also damage your transmitter due to the shorter antenna. The transmitter is set to broadcast over the fully extended antenna and if it is not able to do so, the internal components will heat up and possibly burn out. Please pardon me for not knowing the correct terminology for describing the internal problems.

Some folks do not know that operating their transmitter with a collapsed antenna can harm the radio. What you have is a partially collapsed antenna.

I would guess that you can order a new antenna from Horizon. Give them a call at 1-800-338-4639

Thanks Mike, for your offer I tryed one I had it was one lengith shorter it seames to work ok. But again thank you just the same. from the zook

Jim, a short replay I tryed antenna one section shorter works ok . But I am going to get a replacement to be on the safe side, again thanks for your replay . from the zook

zookJust remember not to "point" you ant, at you plane when fly'in as this'll short'in your range even farther than it is ,This goes for all tran ant's, busted or not , your bub,steve
