Thank you for posting here :-)

Sand hill is very important geological, archeological and botanical place at the edge of Central Bohemian uplands. Here was found the oldest quartzite quarry in Europe and the oldest human settlement in Czech republic. Probably neanderthal man lived here. In communist era this place was used as sand quarry. Now this is natural protected area and excursional place.

Abandonned military airforce base Milovice. Airfield opened since 1920´s as Czech airforce base. During 2nd world war base was occupied by nazi Luftwaffe. First concrete runway was built in 1947. Russian airforce occupied this place since 1968, after invasion to Czechoslovakia, till 1990. In this period, Russian forces made many changes here. Runway was rebuilded to 2500m length, 44 interceptor hangars and 29 heliports were made. In 1990´s airport stays abandonned and nearly ruined, many equipments here were stolen, sold or destroyed. After some renovation and decontamination, aeroclub come back here and Skoda, car producer, rented a part of runway as a parking lot.

Brown coal mine CSA is situated in north of Czech republic, surrouded by Ore mountains. Mining activity here takes more than 100 years. Seven villages and one lake was ruined in this location. In CSA mine the most quality coal in CZ is mined. In 1960 communist government decided to join some small mines here and make one big mine with surface mining. Golden age of mine was in 80´s, nearly 10 mil of tons were mined by more than 3500 workers here. Mine has some limitations today, which will be again discussed in 2020 year. It is not only question of nature and pollution, but also question of people who can find work here. After depleting of coal, restoration lake will be made here. Slow restoration is in progress from west side of mining area.

Lignite mine Bilina is the deepest surface coal mine in Czech republic. It´s depth is about 200m and bottom is nearly at the sea level. Coal mining persists here for 150 years. Original coal mine, named Maxim Gorkij, gives about 10 millions tons of coal every year. Mining area is about 18km2 and coal supply thickness is 35m. Reserves are counted till 2055 year. Most of coal is used in Ledvice power station, located in neighbourhood. Nowadays the spoil banks of mine are in restoration process, include the greatest one - Radovesice spoil bank, where 4 villages must be ruined to store spoil.

Abandoned military base Milovice is located northeastly from Prague. This area is militarily used since 1908. Probably the most considerable user here was Soviet army, located here for 23 years after invasion to Czechoslovakia in 1968. Soviet army built here larger runway and many operations and housing buildings. Nowadays, there is aero-club and surroundings are ruined, cleaned and nature is decontaminated.
