Question Nexstar Conversion

Hi All,
I'm doing a Nexstar conversion and would like some opinions on this setup.
(I know, I know, I'm a newbie and it's what I have.)

833kv brushless motor
80 amp esc
4S1P 5000mah 20-30C 14.8v lipo
10x7 Master Airscrew E prop

On the Wattmeter I pulled 29 amps and 459 watts.
I don't expect any verticals but since I'm still a newbie
I'm hoping for enough performance to let me learn as I
go.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

What are the amp/watts limits for your 833Kv motor? Your pack and ESC are big enough to cope with >1000W... is the motor?

The Nexstar is suited to a .46 motor... and the crude conversion of glow to electric would suggest that is equivalent to about 920W.

You might well get away with a bit less (600-800W), but I don't think 460W is enough.

Max Current on motor is 70Amps
Max Watts 980W

Do you suggest going with a larger prop or
maybe a prop with more pitch?
Thanks for the response.

I'd say increase prop diameter and commensurate pitch until you are drawing 50A or so - 50A x 13.5v (probable voltage under load) = 675W - if the motor can cope with that without over-heating then I'd say you have a good baseline to work from.
