Default Walkera 4G3 Spectrum conversion

Has anybody converted their 4G3 to Spektrum yet? Really would like to dump the Walkera TX due to it's obscure programming features. The fact that one can not 'read' the settings is really bizarre to say the least. I did see some people going all the way BL in which case one has to put a lot of extra stuff in ... is that the only way one can do it?

Yes, it has been done, It's not easy, It's not cheap. there are two ways to do it:

1) 2 cell lipo with stock AR6300
2) 1 cell lipo with modified AR300 (there is a guy on RCgroups.com who modifies the AR300 for 1cell lipo use but they cost $75-$90 each)

Got pulled down to earth by a flying friend, who told me "it's just a different heli, so learn it and do not make it behave like all your others, or spend a lot of bucks, add a lot of weight and it will behave like all the others" (Thanks Manuel)

I sure was impressed with mine (non-metal version), straight out of the box it hovered solid, and even held inverted pretty solid... (I flew it but I didn't flip it, a buddy did... I'm still too new)

still gonna need a little tweaking to make it more touchy for flipping, but it sure is one impressive micro machine....LOL

The only problem I ever really had with my walker 4#3 was the servo connections to the receiver are complete and utter CRAP. They would gilitch out all the time. This was with the original 4#3 so maybe it's gotten better, but because of that my 4#3 is sitting in a box instead of flying.
