Hobby Lobby's FJ-3 Fury with 80mm fan
#1

Hi all, Hobby Lobby was selling these jets out last week at $99.99 with $9.99 shipping. Hard to find a rec. ready jet at under 100 bucks. Man what a great deal
. The Fury sold out and they still have the F-86 but it's back at the regular $219.00 price. It took only one night to have it ready to fly, but with all the snow here I had time to add some trim paint and lights to her. It's a real nice stock set up with a 80mm 8 blade fan and 2600 Kv 4 cell motor, 45 amp Hobbywing Pentium ESC that has the switching BEC in it. Also came with all the servos 4-9g and 1-metal gear 9g servo for the front steerable nose gear. I will be running a 4s 40C 2650 pack in it. The lights can be turned on and off by the transmitter. I hope to fly her after the snow is gone at my club field. Here ar a few pic's and a video of the working lights.

Is the Fury the same as the F-86 except for the decoration? I just bought an F-86 at Hobby Lobby's crash sale yesterday and I have a couple of questions. What is the size of the battery box on this ship? According to the instructions that I downloaded, maximum battery size is 106X30X36. It's very difficult to find a 4S2200mah battery that fits those specs.
Also, do you have the elevator set up as an elevon? Again, according to the instructions, it shows two elevator servos and calls for elevon mixing from the transmitter. The set-up Hobby Lobby sold me isn't capable of elevon mixing.
That plane looks great, by the way! Nice extra touches.

That plane looks great, by the way! Nice extra touches.

They both fit the battery box. The size you listed is not the box it's the size of the battery they sell. I don't have my jet set up as elevon. I have one servo pluged into the elevator and the other servo pluged into ch 7 as a slave ch too my elevator. I use a 8 ch radio with a 8ch rec. Thanks for the remarks on the extra touches.

Hi All, Here is a video of my stock Hobby Lobby 80mm FJ-3 Fury flying. It's a real nice flying jet and it spins fast even on low rates that I was flying on. On high it spins like a top lol. I did add some lite ply blocks on top of the main gear covers because of our grass field. This was a great buy at 100 bucks for a rec ready jet.
