Default First Flight after a 15 year break . (on board video)

Woo Hoo

First Flight after a 15 year break .

Well technically I had my first flight 2 days ago but crashed, so i'm not counting that.

WoW - E- power is so much better , I love it , no mess , no noise = more fun. Even though the model is a pile of crap . My bad design - too much wing chord I think.

I also had a forward facing camera - the light was blinking but nothing on SD card

Next flight after this I smashed it again (no video sorry) , stalled out of a loop , same as the other day. At lease I know I can still fly OK so I've ordered a FMS Beaver 2000 , at least it should fly straight out of the box.

I know what its like to come back ... I had a good number of years away and then returned. Initial flights were 'interesting' but I had same surprise that the 'knack' wasn't lost.
My return model was a Lanyu ME109 ... an ambitious model I have to admit - but she survived and went on to be modified .. finally succumbing to failed radio.

Default Welcome back

Same here, only 20+ years away. Actually flying my first RC model I purchased in 1986 and it was 20 years old then! Now it's all electric and even more fun. Bought a Hobby Zone Carbon Cub with AS3X and SAFE and took advantage of assisted learning built into them and some flights with the old school MEN Trainer - see the thread in Old Timer/Vintage group topic.
That and a simulator helped keep crashes away - did have a couple of oops, but minimized damages with control.
Since December when I actively began weekend trips to the field I now also take a biplane PT-17 and do a little pattern work with it. Club members have also helped get back the grove and confidence to operate safely and enjoyably in some questionable winds.
Keep it up - good group here and see ya round' the patch!
