Nice pictures Dave. Looks like a good day. How's that Extra 260 doing for you? You may want to check the piece that holds the two halves of the elevator together real close. Mine came apart on me again yesterday and made me do a "Not so pretty" landing. She'll be in the air again soon. I see your Mini SS is still going. Did you see the pics of mine with the aluminum gear?

That has happened twice on mine now. I just finished repairing mine last night. The second time it did it, I lost the gear too. I reinforced and epoxied them back in. As far as the elevator, I added some material in the thinnest part right in front of the rudder. Then I epoxied a 1/64" ply skin over the whole area. I don't think it's going anywhere now but I could be wrong. I can post a picture of my fix if it helps.

Here ya go. I peeled the covering back, epoxied a piece of 3/16 hardwood in the thin area and then epoxied the 1/64" ply plate over the top. Once it dried, I put the covering back on. Not real pretty, but better than crashing again I hope.

That ought to be a pretty stong joint. Just make sure to rough up the screwdriver so the epoxy will adhere to it. I originally used a 3/16" hardwood dowel but it even seperated.
