New! Airfoilz Edge 540NX

Our Price: $59.99

Stock Status: In Stock

Product Code: edge540kit
Manufacturer: 3Dfoamworks
Qty:

The NEW Airfoilz Edge 540NX profile of non-stop fun is here! Airfoilz planes are designed for performance, unlike a flat foamy planes, Airfoilz planes have a real airfoil wing, and no other plane on the market has a hollow depron wing like Airfoilz. With this wing, it keeps the strength high and with weight low, what does this mean? PERFORMANCE and lots of fun. Are Airfoilz planes indestructible, NO like most high performance planes, but they can take a beating, and are easily repairable. The NX series plane is made from Depron foam, balsa and Carbon Fiber which makes for a lightweight rigid plane. The new designed fuselage is now CNC router cut and includes a carbon fiber spar for more stiffness and strength. All Airfoilz planes come with complete hardware and no throw-a-way hardware ether. So if you want an easy to fly plane and build, and that flies like no other foamy than an Airfoilz is for you!

It would not be my motor of choice... I'd be looking at the Hyperion 3019 to start.

James, that wouldn't be my first choice either, if price was no issue. My first choice would be the AXI 2212-34, with an 11x5.5 SF APC, but when you look at the cost of $75 vs $23, I think the Super Tiger 10 would be a great choice. You could even go with the 400 size, with a 10x4.7 or 10x6 as long as you stick with a lipo 1000mah or smaller, to keep the weight down.

I'll go with Jeff at heads up for thisbubsteve

2836-09 Outrunner Brushless Electric Motor

The 2836-09 is a 2.6 oz, 900KV direct drive outrunner brushless motor capable of producing 36 oz of thrust from a 3-cell Lipo battery. This is a '450 class', 200 watt, brushless motor that weighs less than a speed 400 brushed/geared motor, but provides about twice the thrust! It is roughly equivalent to .10 to .15 size two stroke glow engines.

I think the Hyp 3019 would weigh too much at 142 grams, the Super Tiger only weighs 69g. It calls for a 200w motor, the 3019 can produce up to 500w .

I think this would be in the right weight range but the Super Tiger is rated at 300w versus the 200w for Jeff's motor.

I don't know Brett, the Super Tiger still seems to have better specs...of course the specs could be full of poop too .

Looks like we have the ten needed for the group buy . My LHS has the motor so as soon as I have the plane I'll be ready for assembly.

SJ just wondering what your LHS is selling that tigre motor for. I have the 400 motor very smooth running motor. I was given one to try a few months ago had to fill out a sheet of paper what I thought about the motor. I think my LHS is double what it is being sold at tower hobby.

Yikes...I haven't checked yet. I just assumed they would be the same as Tower, around $25. I guess I will pay up to $30 to get it from the LHS since I would have to pay shipping but I will order it from Tower before I pay $50.

I was shocked when I saw what the LHS was selling these motors for he said he was going to stock them as the motors and esc's that where givien out to test all came back with great reveiws and they would be his btt. line motors. I could buy 2 of them from tower for the price of one at LHS.

Tell ya SJ I have not bought a battery, motor, or a ESC from him. Way over priced on this stuff. The HS up here are all expensive I buy online for all my big stuff little things I go to the LHS. I am going out there this weekend I am double checking the price on that motor I'll post the price, Dang maybe I should move closer to your shop.
