Does anyone know if the Deweyville Special is vintage or nostalgic or not ?? I built one a long time ago from the old Orline kit and the plan has no date or copyright claim on it. The instruction booklet starts with the comment that Orline modified the original plan for radio control. I believe that there was quite a few kits produced in the earlier days based on plans published in the earlier modelling magazines and wondered if the Deweyville was one of them and when it was published ? The model has the vintage look and I would like to build another and fly it at vintage rallies, hence the request for info Vital stats are 74 span and 60 2 stroke upfront thanks john

Hello John,
I couldn't find the Deweyville special listed on the S.A.M. eligible list or the Vintage RC eligible list either.
http://www.vintagercsociety.org/vrcs...irplanesPage=4
http://www.antiquemodeler.org/ (Click on "Approved List")
I'd suggest e-mailing both links and asking if it's been approved, or for any other information. Maybe it just hasn't been presented for approval yet?

I can't give you a date (had a stroke about 5 years ago bad memory since) but I think about the 1930's I know a famous actor kitted the plane and had plans there was a revival of sorts before I got away from the hobby, stroke some of the fellows in dthe club in idaho built and they flew very well hope this jars some other memores and helps Les

I have 2 deweys. One built in the mid 70s.The other in the box ready to be built from the 70s.I tried to download some pics but I cant seem to get it.This info taken off the plans.Simcoe R/C Aircraft mfgs 614 south Columbus. Goldendale,Washington 98620 509-773-5359.DeweyVille Special Designed By C.Wayne Jessee Kit no.OL793 I could not find a date. But this came from my manual. The deweyville special is not a scale plane. It existed only in the mind of a few country boys in deweyville oregon. It has been redesigned as a radio controlled model by Simcoe R/6 Aircraft mfg.I will try topost pics.Hope this helps. If you have any ? Hello Greg,
I have the orline plan and instructions too and as you say, no date on any of them.
I was hoping that the design might have gone back into the 60'3 and I might just get it in as nostalgia as the Deweyville has that look about it
I am surprised that there has been no info coming from the USA on this as there must be plenty of modellers still around from thet era who built it and would remember when it first hit the magazines/shops ??
thanks for your input.
