Default Comet Hellcat by DPCM Aerowerks

Laser cut short kit costing a whole $15. Nice build so far I am re-engineering the empennage a bit to work with rc. It will have an Outrunner 180 and Spektrum EFLU brick. Started to built it with a straight wing but I did add the slight gull.

My building board is so original Magna Jig my mother bought for me 60 years ago. I have lost some of the original magnets but have replaced them with the spares Easy Built sells.

I don't like to try to cobble up cello canopies, so I sheeted up the canopy and will paint "clear" areas silver or blue. Also skinned a hatch over the engine, it will be retained with magnets and will give plenty of access for engine work and battery box.

I did the hatch on my Taylorcaft (from Comet kit), exactly the same.
Any updates?

I have the motor mount done, almost ready to put in the brick and start covering. Time has been really limited due to family and work commitments!
Thanks for the interest! Watched a YouTube the other day apparently when it first came out the real one sucked in not a few Japanese pilots who thought they could out vertical climb it like a Wildcat.

I am thinking of copying some tissue from a Wylam line drawing plan so I will have an authentic line drawing ready made on the underside big white tissue covered wings simulating the wheel wells and other details, as I am building it gear up as a belly lander. I have been copying decals and lozenge tissue so I think it should work.

Once they are up in the air it's academic whether you have a clear canopy or not!
