Default Honey bee King 2 issue

Hello! First off I would like to let everyone know that I am VERY new to this hobby. I just purchased a Honey Bee King 2 heli and everytime I start it up, everything starts out fine. Then once I accelerate to the point that I can lift off, it takes forward flight and begins a left turn (nose direction of course). Does anyone know what I can do to solve this? I just crashed and ruined my flybars from it and I just DONT know what to do. Any help from ANYONE would be great. thanks

Hi Slim,

Welcome to WattFlyer.

This may not be what you want to hear but the King 2 is not a beginner heli. What you need to do is get sim time if you haven't and also have a look at RADD's School Of Rotary Flight.

Most helis will lift off then go off in one direction or another. You need to be aware of this and ready for it.

Hope this is some help.

thanks for the reply. I am VERY aware of the fact that helis move all over. But mine seems to move A LOT more than it is supposed too. I could be 10yds away and it will turn around and come back at me. idk if I have ever seen one with that much spin and forward motion right from the beginning. Thanks for the help though. Any more suggestions?

Trims? Did you try setting the trims?

I'm not saying this to be mean but how do you know what it's supposed to do? Do you have another heli that doesn't do this?

Did you check over the heli before trying to fly it for the first time? The king2, while a good heli for the price, is not the most stable nor easiest to work on. It has its share of kinks from the factory.

One well known issue is that the tail does not rotate fast enough, especially at lift off speed, once in the air it's ok but it's during take off that you have trouble with tail authority. I'd suggest playing with the hov. trim. knob to get the rpms up higher at take off to give more tail authority. the other things you can do are use 450 size tail blades or get the xtreme 43t tail belt upgrade.
