When I flew with the club I was an instructor and engine man. Had several students that listened and were ready to solo on the first day. Then I had a couple that stated they didn't want to solo. They just wanted to fly once plane was in the air. A few I walked away from once the plane was airborne and under their control. I did stay close out of their sight just in case.
