Thumbs up Got it straight from the horse's mouth...more or less.

Got an e-mail from the Jeti company in the Czech Republic. Was told that if one bypassed the BEC on an Advance 70 Plus ESC, the maximum voltage to be carried by the ESC is 17 volts. The e-mail to me said 17 volts, which may be subject to some interpretation. I interpret that answer to mean that I can use more than 3 Lipos in series with that ESC if I bypass the integral BEC. I plan on using no more than 4. Jim

a 4s lipo will give you 14.8 v which will be well under the 17v that the esc can handle.

The voltage of a fully charged 4S pack is 16.8v, so you'll start out real close to 17v. Under load, of course, the pack voltage will immediately drop.
