Because I felt the same thing you feel, I chose to make myself different, therefore you got what you see here. I have new plans coming soon as I have stepped out of the hobby for a short period to correct issues in my life but I'm back full steam. Just wanted to update the thread here by noting that my Brewster has over 50 flights on her now 
When built good and sturdy, Lipo's plane is a real stout number...hehe.

Sooooooo.....it's been quiet here in this thread for just over 6 months now, haha doesn't mean MY Brewster has been hanging in the garage 
I just put flight 99 on her this afternoon, and to test the new simple landing gear I made for her.
Not quite "scale" as the Brewster shares it's gear design with the Grumann F4F Wildcat and makes for a tough go for us foamie flyers BUT it does work well, allowing for neat ROG take offs and great landings.......it does take a bit of care rolling just before lift off but that's the fun.
Anyway, Lipo...your Brewster is still loving life in Chino.....now even more with touch and go capability....haha.

Thanks Ray for your update...I still fly my Brewsters and have seen plenty fly on YouTube but as far as being quiet here on Watt...well its the crowd. Un-related R/C topics seem to get praise these days.

Motor on the Brewster
what motor do you use? I saw that you said it was a 2409-12T but I was wondering what speed that motor is I have a speed 400 Brushless motor and was wondering if that would be to much for it or not enough thank you and great looking plane want to test it out against my dads combat flyer that he is also starting to build

I just built one another one I am using a okhobby 2826/13 1000kv motor 3c 1000mah battery around 128 watts with a 8x6 slow fly prop flys good with it not as fast as what lipo's setup is. I am going to make another and that one I will setup with a hotter motor for streamer fighting. Any motor over a 100 watts will fly this nice just turn down the rates on your first few flights can get out of hand quick. I put a few of these in before I learned my lesson.

Not bad just finished work around the house and getting ready to go flying. I cut another one of these been having a good time with it. Guys at the club are amazed that I will fly this when the wind is blowing and they are sitting with their big planes and can't go up.
Thing does cut through the wind with enough power.
Checked out your new site the other day looks like you and your other pilot will be having some fun chasing storms and helping with rescue cool stuff.

thanks I will be taking it and the electronics from my slow stick which works well but doesn't offer enough for me anymore.
Another thing how long is your wing? the plans say 30" (inches) but it doesn't look like it is that long on your video and you cant get the angles and stuff correct without a template and the template is to small

I have solved all my problems it turns out I printed off the legal size directions and when I printed them everything scaled to the new size and it was all very small. So I reprinted them the letter size and now it is all the right size

You'll really enjoy the build as well as the flying of this plane, Nitro....... mine has a 2822 Emax red motor with APc 8x6 and 1000mah 20c 3s battery from Jeff at Head's Up RC, super aerobatic and responsive plane.

I chose the Brewster because well, it just needed more power and it was just as good as a P-51 or any other warbird. Many forget the Brewster rip a big hole in the Russians, thanks to that smart Finnish dude who had the Tim The Tool Man attitude going on. He dropped that 20 ton engine, added some power, put some guns on her, and armored up the cockpit. With that said she Buffalo'd her way right into Russia. But many remember it was a coffin for American Navy pilots thanks to no armor or real horsepower to speak of...Lot's of Zero's ate Buffalo for lunch. I mean for crying out loud, the Marines nicknamed it the Flying Coffin.
Some will argue but to me the Brewster is a sexy fat little, 3D, Slowfly, Indoor, Outdoor, Parkflyer...with combat history and appeal.

Got me thinking about flying the Brewster today with all this talk so I put two batteries through her just now.....haha....whadda great plane, we've been through a lot together
