Default Prop nut/adapter for Power 60 and three blade prop

My new (new to me) Kyosho FW190 has the EFlite Power 60 on it. I want to run a 3 bladed prop for ground clearance.

I bought a 14 x 9 Master Airscrew 3 blader, but it doesn't fit on the prop nut... anyone know what prop nut to buy for it?

I am gonna try a 13 x 8 3 blade as well. Even the 14 doesn't leave
much room under the nose.

Thanks in advance.

The holes on the AS props are larger in diameter than the prop shaft if I recall. You might need a reducer in there, which is basically an aluminum bushing to sure up between shaft and prop. Problem is, there aren't many sources out there. I have had to have some local shops make adapters for me before.

Default its the length of the nut that is causing me trouble

The hole seems to be the right size, its the length of the nut that is a problem. The prop nut shaft is not long enough to clear the hub of the prop. Basically the prop is too thick for the prop nut. Any ideas?

I had that problem with my E-Flite 60 and the Master Airscrew prop too.
I was lucky enough that I was able to pick up a new prop adaptor at the Hobby shop, I'll see if I can find the brand name.

AXI has an adaptor that bolts to the front of the motor too.
I'll try to find out which one fits the 60.

This is the adapter you need. I used the same one on my Kyosho FW-190 and the master airscrew is a perfect fit.

Glad to help. On your maiden, forget using the flaps on the first flight. You will find that the flaps work almost too good and will slow the plane down VERY fast. Its better to get a couple of flights in before trying them but than you do use them you can make some of the slowest 3 point landings you have ever seen from a warbird. Even at slow speeds their is no tip stall, the nose just drops but with a little throttle to recovers nicely.

Good Luck

The prop adapter for the AXi 4120/4130 is a bolt on fit and should do the job. One thing I love about the AXi over the collet type adapters, especially on big motors like this, is the positively secure way the adapter screws to the motor bell.

Default She flies (flew) great

So 3 great easy flights and one really bad one. I had read that there was no tip stall issues, but I noticed mine liked to roll over and dive when I got too slow. Like I do with all new planes, I took it up high to see how it behaved and noticed the stall. I commented to my flying buddies that if it rolled out lower, I would lose it.

Well today it rolled out lower. Our field has pines that are about 30-40 feet high all around the main clearing. I did a nice medium speed low fly by, took her up easy and banked to turn around for a landing. As I banked, she rolled over on me and started to spin. I recovered from the spin and powered up to pull out of the dive, but the trees got her before I could pull all the way out.

Then that sickening crunch and the wing was shredded. All electronics are fine, I guess the tree broke the final impact. The cowl and canopy are perfect still. The battery hatch has a little damage and the firewall came off real clean.

So, does anyone know where to get a wing?
I do not see any parts for the Kyosho FW190 anywhere.
