The little carriage thingy for the nose wheel broke. It slides front and back, and then it broke and moves freely with no servo control. I found this out after a landing and the wheel had no control and I crashed into a wooden barrier/pole thing and the wing ripped in 3 places. So now I had to CA the nose wheel in one direction, straight. But, the CA keeps breaking. where can I find one of these arm things?

I use old servo horns, slip um on and epoxy wraped in thread and super glue the thread , if your careful wrap'in it ,it'll last forever,you can use a wheel-collar as well, bub, steve

this thing, or the firewall? if the firewall is broken and you have all the parts - I was able to repair mine with thin CA and microballoons - but you could probably do the same by scuffing the plastic and using 5-minute epoxy.

well, what can I say? you are a great and skillful builder. Flyer, is another matter . It will be a small flat 3D foamie made from 10mm foam to carry a 480. and 2100mah 3s. I worry that after this big foam, motor, and lipo, that it'll be too heavy to 3D . But i'm prayin'

Hi Guys,
I finally flew the new paint scheme on my T28. It was flying good after a few minor tweeks, except every so often it pulled to the left in flight.
At the end of the day i noticed the gap between the main wing and the fuse was looking pretty wide. Up on flipping the plane over I found the 2 pins at the back of main wing that attach into the fitting in the fuse had come out and were only held in place by the foam. I'll be fixing that for sure. lol
At any rate after a couple months of no flying it felt great to fly again.

cool man! I thought I was flying How did you do the paint job? Now since about lst week the paint has been starting to peel. I have had it for around a month now. I got the aluminium mount in the mail thursday, after 2 weeks in first class mail! I got it from the man in redding, CA. He has an rcg thread on it. I wanted it for the pz480 motor and he sent me the eflite one. But I also had that motor, it was just a really big inconvience to take it off. I dont know whats wrong, but now instead of really smooth turning, It has one thick movement? i wanted a little more kick out of it, so in order to run a bigger prop, I had to get the aluminium motor mount. It held up very nice and I got almost 2 full lipos in before it started to pour. It seems to stray with the rudder both directions? I need a new paint job. I love yours. The little nose wheel carriage is long broken, so I have had to re-ca it straight every time it breaks. I saw the little peice on the horizon site, but cant get it. I used the mount first time today. Today was also a crucial testing day in the airframe's strength I did harriers, rolls, loops, some other stuff. It suprisingly does snap rolls very well. This thing is easier than my SS and ez*. Next I need a power 10, but I will need the aluminium mount, but I dont think he makes a 10 size mount. My inverted is piss poor. Next up, a t-28 bipe with very shortened wings and an extremely high kv inrunner!

For the Paint I used Krylon H20, blue painters tape, and I cussed a lot. It's horrible painting foam!

With the Eflite 480 how does the plane fly and feel w/ the standard size prop?
Is it much different than the stock?
Which KV is yours?
Is the alum motor mount much heavier than the standard one?
If you go Power 10 you may need a higher rated ESC, also might a bigger prop require that too w/ the Eflite 480?

Give your LHS the part # for the Nose Gear Steering Arm and let them put it on their next order for ya. Much easier than ordering one small part on the internet.

Great that the airframe held up for you in your testing. Watch that the Main Wing doesn't loosen up on ya. It's my next fix and I'm running a stock setup. lol

If you do a T28 bipe, you've gotta do a build thread.

aluminium mount is much stronger and only weighs a few measely grams more.
The stock mount breaks on anything bigger than 11X7, but the aluminium wont and handles my 12X8 nicely. The man who makes these has a special trojan/corsair mount and power pack for sale for 140 dollars. He includes a giant brushless motor, 4 cell 2500 mah lipo, 60 amp esc, and aluminium mount for it. And the mount is taking on 800 watts! the mount wont break.
I use a 36 amp esc with 3 amp bec, so no prob there if a 10 size
I dont know if he makes a 10 size mount, but it has to be metal for this if a 480 can break it.
I just gave my lhs the part number
I had already thickly epoxy-ed the wing to the fuse because it kept coming off on some "rough landings"
I am considering the bipe. I don't know what time and effort is required yet.
Does the huge cowling disrupt the airf flow and not let you get the full potential speed out of your pitch? Because I was thinking a 4,000 kv inrunner on this bad boy, with a 6 something prop. Shorten the wing, and it could go 100, maybe?

So this weekend my buddy and I finally did our parallel builds of our new T-28's. Assembled from new ParkZone spares, reinforced w/fiberglass cloth + epoxy & a CF rod. Turnigy 35-36C motor & 40A Plush ESC, HXT-900 servos. MAS 10x7 3-blade prop. Rhino 25C 2250mAh packs. Stock motor mount after some build-up. Two words:

Insane vertical

Lots of fun just like the stockers at low throttle. Very stable, no issues whatsoever thus far. Nutty when you want them to be. A few pics attached. Long live the T-28!

how is yours still so clean? Wouldn't more power break the stock mount? When I used a little bigger prop on just the 480 for the little more oomph, it broke the mount. I am using the aluminium one, and I am trying to get a cheap used power 10 for it and the X mount. I saw his aluminium mount take 800 watts!

They are still clean cuz they were finished & maidened yesterday lol. The rationale behind the stock motor mount is that in a crash you want it to break, absorbing some force and not damaging the fuse if possible. The stock mount is surprising if you reinforce behind it as we did. Time will tell if they hold up, so far no signs of stress. The props were carefully balanced before testing & flight. 800 watts is nutty! These are crazy fast with this setup, which is ~430-450 watts at least on the bench. These motors are ~$25 and I've seen Power 10's in T-28's and personally I think this setup generates more power.

really? Mine broke with the 480 just testing the amps on bench . Yours will get dirty. How do you balance apc? and these work on the parkzone 480 mount, or eflite? The have different hole alignment. How many amps does yours pull? would an 11X7 be too much?

I'm also using the turnigy SK series 35x36x910kv on a 12x8 prop on 4cell 1500mah packs.... (no landing gear because no prop clearance anyways...)

Where did you balance yours... My battery had to be pushed all the way back to the middle of the fuse.....

ps, I also had a 35x42x1250kv motor sitting around that I almost used instead...LOL

I got mine pnp, and the weights are pretty much stock. If I have a problem, I use trim. Check out my forsale/wanted threads in batteries and motors. I am trading an old lipo and old 480 for a power 10.

I think in the future I will go with the 35x36x1400kv and put like a 9x9 or something similar to allow for landing gear... but for now a belly lander is ok...

although your triblade setup looks pretty wicked....
