I found the problem. We had a ' in the category name. Some browsers (mine) send it as a ', but others change it to a %27. All is fixed. Thanks for the heads up!

Thank you for the info. We have already found and fixed that bug. Apparently on my computer when I click the link, I get the ' show up and everything was good, but on some browsers it chanted the ' to a %27, and the software thought someone was trying to hack it. The nav bar has been updated to remove the '. Please try again by clicking in the nav bar. Also, check back over the next couple days. That is a new section and will be adding more stuff over the next couple days.

My MCX is making large right hand circles. Not yaw circles, it stays pointed in 1 direction and hovers around in a circle. I am blaming this on the inner shaft i broke where the fly bar attaches and tried to ca back together. My guess is it is out of balance and that is causing it. I have inner shafts on order.

Will that fix it?

Hi, mine does small circles of the same nature...that is pointed in the same direction. If there is a way to fix it I would love to know too. I thought I just had to live with it.

Could be a bent shaft. I've crashed so many times chasing the cat that I might have a bent shaft too. I had one on order and it just showed up at the LHS. Now I just need to install it.

Mine weaves around a bit too. It's probably just how they fly. It doesn't bother me. There's loads of wind currents that this little heli stirs up so it's hard to say what causes it to wander about.

A wagging tail could be a bad gyro or loose electronics. There could be a chipped tooth on the gear that can be the cause. A broken frame could cause the gyro to wobble.

Just go over the heli and look at the gears and make sure the electronics board is firmly attached to the frame & that the frame is intact.

I also got some of those new 130mAh batteries and am charging them up. The E-Flite ones seem to get weak after a a few runs; hope these new ones hold up. FYI: the LHS stocks Tenergy brand; you can get those online but after shipping they cost the same if not more than the LHS. The LHS sells them for $10 each which seems to be the going price for any brand of these 130mAh LiPo's.

I have had my MCX for one month now and it has not wagged and flies very smooth. Hope that I can keep it that way. Removing the top screw has saved me many parts as the flybar just pops out on a hard impact.

I messed around with my mCX and found that if you have the flybar too tight it wanders all over the place.

Best thing to do is take out the screw. I even went further and sanded the slot out a little so there is no resistance on the flybar. A little vasaline helps even more; I use something like chapstick, a appx 50/50 vasaline & parafin mix.

Love those new 130mAH LiPo's! My LHS had them. Tenergy makes them and there are other brands out there. I've bought Tenergy online (http://stores.ebay.com/All-Battery-Center & https://www.all-battery.com/) and had fair luck with them; the early version puffed a little but the newer LiPo's seem to be good. I also bought an early Tenergy balance charger which I have used for two years now. Be careful buying these online; the LHS sells them for $10 each.

The LiPo's I've had the best luck with are Common Sense but they don't make the E-Flite micro style batts. I've heard talk about Outrage LiPo's especially with heli's. Outrage has 35C heli batts but as with many brands does not have the micro LiPo's. http://www.outragerc.com/home/

We'll see how much better the new 130mAH's are. The E-Flite ones get weak pretty quick.

I spent a lot of time over the long weekend beating on my poor little MCX, trying nose-in landings on an elevated 8" x 8" helipad, backward circles and figure 8s, etc. There were some, er, "unintended contact incidents" as a result. Anyway, I was chasing the trim around all weekend wondering why I could not get a steady hover, until I took a good look at the swash and realized the anti-rotation pin somehow popped out of the guide. Oops.:o Yeah, that'll cause issues. At least I know that will pop apart before breaking in an impact. Side note, the trim is holding steady now...

The CAT isn't scared of the mCX anymore.

The CAT is now jumping up to try and snatch the mCX out of the air, got it once already. SWAT!!! and it came crashing down.

That flybar mod works great, everything snaps apart on a hard crash.

I also have the Losi Baja Desert Micro Truck that I chase the cat with when I'm not terrorizing him with the mCX. The Baja is about the same size as the mCX. I wonder... could you make a Baja mCX, kindof a James Bond flying car. It'd probably take a full size CX2 to even begin to lift the Baja. Hmmm... there's a new CX3 coming out soon.

See, indoor flying can be a lot of FUN!

Stumbled on to the micro at my LHS while getting parts for my CX2 (just because you can't see the tree branch dosen't mean it's not there). Almost bought it there and then, 'cept he wanted $130 plus tax for the RTF. Thought that maybe I could do better. Any thoughts (other than support my LHS-do plenty 'o that already)

Anyone who is selling for less than 129.99 either isn't an authorized dealer for Horizon (might be harder to get service if needed), or they are breaking a contract and will probably be terminated soon.

I have some pointy tweezers for that job. Hair can be a problem too; my mom had loooong hair and that even got wrapped up in the vacuum, my hair's not that long but... So what you might think of as carpet might just be hair.

You might think of getting the lawn mower out and give the carpet a haircut.


And remember - take that screw out of the mCX flybar hub!

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the contract say that you can not advertise it lower than 129.99. If the website does not give a price until it is in your shopping cart it is fine.

Other companies, not in the rc field do the same thing. I.e. I jsut bought a gift that can not be advertised lower than 279.99, but on the website it says to call for the best deal. I called and got it for 219.99

Well I broke down and bought one of these after reading how happy everyone is. OMG. This is too cool. Took the TX from an old CX2 and it bound right up. Changed three dip switches and flew it right away. I am hooked. Even after only one flight.

Yep! And it's good practice for the winter months especially if you guys got dumped on by Mother Nature this week like we did here. It took me three hours to dig out the truck.

I like pointing it toward me and trying not to hit stuff. This orientation gets your head all messed up just like a real heli but le$$.

Maybe I'll be doing 3D with my real heli this spring. That and I finally got a real heli, not that Blade CP Pro pile of junk. Although I did get another Blade - the 400; too bad Horizon put junk servos in it.

My next heli is going to be a TRex. I'm thinking big for aerial photography. There's also the new TRex 250 - it's so cute!

Horizon is working on more micro fun. These micro indoor/backyard flyers have really hit the spot for anywhere FUN especially the BNF versions; I love using my DX7 with these. There's that 4ch fully aerobatic plane that should be out spring/summer - CAN'T WAIT!!! Though I still like flying the bigger stuff too. Until then the mCX is great fun indoors chasing the cat.

Caltop, it sounds like you bought a Blade 400 3-D. That is what I have been learning on since May 2008 and I like it. Yes I replaced the sevos with Hitec 65 MGs and the Gyro with a Futaba 401 and it flies great. Yes the MCX gives you some practice flying nose in to get you ready for outdoor 400 flying.

Just discovered a good practice manoeuvre that will get us ready to fly the bigger Helis outdoors.
Flying nose in is very important in order to get yourself available for instant response when having orientation problems when flying the larger Heils.
OK so I thought that I was getting pretty good at flying with the nose toward me so I thought I will just fly though the doorway while standing just on the other side (Like 3 feet from the doorway). Well, I quickly found out that I needed more practice as I hit the doorway three times trying that move. Maybe I will try hanging two streamers about 3 feet apart and fly towards me though them to avoid injury to the Blade MCX.

Try it and I think you will be surprised and when you can do it 20 times in a row without incident then you may be ready to fly the bigger ones nose in outdoors.

Going through tight spaces nose in will do it to you. Your reactions need to be automatic in tight situations which is why I crash so much with the mCX. It's like the simulator and does not cost much to get it airborne again. I am getting better all the time.

Then there's the mCX fast turn where it self crashes. The right rudder, aileron and elevator and the mCX gets itself all caught up in mid air. The darn thing will just not do 3D - wouldn't it be nice to have a variable pitch coaxial heli ? That would be a nightmare getting all the blade linkage setup.

Yes I do have the Blade 400. I figure for level normal flying the stock servos should hold up but when I start 3D I will have to change the servos. I still think I should have gotten the TRex 450 instead.

I'm only 400 miles from you and the winter just stepped up a notch here with all the snow we got last weekend. You probably get a bunch more snow being on the Great Lakes.

Yes CT I also wondered if I should have bought the TRex 450 instead of my Blade 400 but now I think that I like the Blade in that I can replace the parts less expensively than the Trex parts. I have gotten used to repairing the 400 now and actually enjoy doing it. I had an awful time always replacing the plastic gears in the servos so I really like my metal gear Hitec's. Even when I was first learning last spring it did not take much of a crash to break the gears. If we are to continue discussing the 400, we should start a new topic thread.
We are going out to the Cami Suzuki gym again tonight with the MCX and the Vapors. These two are a great combination.
