4s was a success, i didnt push it too hard , check my temps on motor and esc a few times and it wasnt any hotter then with 3s , alot faster when you need it but comfortable at lower speeds , glad i dodnt buy more 3s , they are hard to cone by here in Ontario, I guess 2200mah 3s is a common pack for most planes so they sell out quick . I fly this thing every morning at 7am and 3 packs wasnt enough , now I have 11 . this plane is pretty darn good I think I'm getting another one used this week , I was going to get a mustang ,thunderbolt or corsair but for this season I'm going to stick with this and save the new plane for next year

- I am sitting n my living room and looking at the photo of my dad in formation flight #2 position. Maybe I will try that T-28 before I tackle the T-29!

had a pretty good crash into a tree the other day , damage only to the wing , repaired with hot glue and small bamboo skewers, didn't add a lot of weight and every looks straight but today it was banking hard to the left when stick was dead center , trimmed all the way right with alieron and got it to fly straight, but not sure what's causing such a bad pull ?
before this all trims where dead center and I flew straight , only other I changed was I put in a ar800 rx , it is possible the rx has issues ? no visible reason for the drastic pull

It's not unusual (after a CRASH) to find several little issues not related to the ESC or RX performance, causing control issues or the need to re-set surface control settings (manually or electronically)........

I just adjusted the clevis on both aileron and put the ar600 back in im going to pull the cowl and look for motor mount damage , I did notice it pull a few times even after it was trimmed all the way right . might be a danger servo , everything seems to check out , the alierons were off a little
not sure if it was enough to make it bank that hard but I guess I will have to test the changes and work through the p.o.e ( process of elimination) my remote is an older dx7s it could be the problem too but I flew my new p47 right after and it flew straight .

this prop came with my p47 , it bolted on good , should I use it or asking for trouble?
not sure of size or pitch but on the bench it seems to have a lot more pull .
running a 40amp eflite esc and 1250kv motor on 4s 45c

Personally, I'm not a big fan of 4-blade props, particularly on a Trojan. They look nice and sized properly, will give decent performance. However, found on the Trojan, two blade's (sized adequate for motor and ESC), generally will out perform quad's.....even for "3D"/Acro flight.....and provide longer flight times.
Just an observation, before slapping that quad on the T-28, give the plane a few flight run-throughs after repairs......no need to add another bunch of "if's" to a plane that has been CRASHED, until one is satisfied with the original performance after repairs......then start experimenting with caution......otherwise, you'll never completely sort out any issues that crop up.....and end up with more glue and sticks than foam.....and the plane will never fly as it did OEM.......

I tried it this morning , I didn't like it as much as the 9.5×7.5 . I even slapped on the 4 blade and it was horrible, sucked so much power I thought I put a drained pack back in by mistake , so it'll never be used , or for display over the winter lol

Could be, but more than likely it's something mechanical or an electrical connection that did not get sorted out after the CRASH.........Spend a little more time checking all electrical connections, all physical linkage adjustments, wing and fuse balance/taper/surface controls/hinges.

I think it's the wing , I do notice after the crash the inner part of the wing is mishaped slightly, I didn't think it was enough to effect anything but it's gotta be, it's pretty calm this morning (7am) so itll be a good time to see just how straight it flys , yesterday was 16km winds and it was dancing

it's flying good now, I must have been my prop adapter , I was using the one off my sukhoi 29mm, plus the motor was loose , got it flying really smooth this morning, cg set for 1st time and 0km winds made for my best flight yet , ailerion still trimmed all the way right but flew pretty straight, might pick up a new wing next week and try that, or just live with it . either way thanks again for all the feedback and responses it all helped

One of the neighbors is selling this same version of the plane with some spare batteries, a dx6i and some other stuff and is only asking about 75 bucks for the bundle. I'm absolutely certain it's a good deal, but I've already got the newer one with the flaps and retracts that flies on 3s batteries.. not the big one that takes a 6s. I stuff a 5100 drone battery in there and I get about 10 minutes in the air.. the 3s usually dies after about 6. so I've got very little time to enjoy myself up there with those. What's the flight time on a 2200mah 3s pack?

I retired my Trojan last week, poor thing was so beat up it wasn't worth flying it anymore, with stock 30amp and stock motor I could squeeze 7min flying slower but 5 max flying 3/4- full , I switched to a 40amp and 1250kv and got less , mostly because I was flying faster . now I fly my pz p47's with 30amp and 1250kv and get 6min -8min depending on how hard I push it, I didn't bother with the 40amp esc because it just meant shorter flights . I've learned I like flying longer rather then faster .

I saw a post earlier regarding speed vs thrust when you go from a 2 blade to 3 blade. I have the larger 1.3mm with retracts and flaps. She's pretty heavy and doesn't really move too fast (I assume because of the triple bladed prop) but she does pull vertical. It's a blast to watch her climb.
on the opposite side of the point that more blades is less speed, I had the umx brushed P51 and with the included 4 blade prop that thing was like a rocket until I crashed it into a football upright and well.. after that she never flew right again. Very disappointing.
One of these days I may build the Flitetest P51 because it's a fast build and easy to do. I don't like building too much.. it's fun but not when it takes three months.
