Default HobbyKing H-King Flycat 70mm 12-Blade EDF Jet

These are my H-King Flycat 70mm 12-Blade EDF Jet videos and review notes.

Unboxing:

Maiden Flight:

Second Flight:

Pros:
- The HobbyKing Flycat feels rock solid while handling it
- It has a Beautifully vibrant color scheme
- Lots of power from the 70mm EDF Fan unit
- Rock solid ball link connectors
- Quick and easy assembly and radio setup
- Optional Retracts via foam cutouts
- It takes the same batteries I use in my E-flite Viper & Avios Spitfire

Cons:
- No RC Plane lights
- Any plane that requires glue gets a con from me, but it really was very easy & intuitive.

Interesting ... I always liked the 56mm Flycat - but it warned about "quote"

The flycat is an extremely fast kit to fly, and required a lot of elevator in turns. We suggest putting the elevator on maximum throws. It needs HUGE amounts of elevator during turns!

This 70mm has a better fuselage to it being a full section right back instead of the 56 sitting without surround.

How did the controls feel ? Did it need large amounts of elevator as the 56 ?

I have to say though - not over enthusiastic about the colour scheme ... its similar in my view to the carnival scheme of the Stinger. The Arctic Cat also has a 'vibrant scheme' but I find it blends into clouds etc. too easily.

The controls feel great! I have the elevator at 100%, but the ailerons are at 80%. It feels gentle, yet responsive. The scheme is growing on me too as it is pretty easy to see in the sky

Was surprised at the price but I suppose you are getting a virtual ARTF ...

Would be nice to see a plain Jane version ... like the 56mm job that people like me could set up ..

It wouldn't surprise me if they offer that at some point soon, but who knows for sure what will happen.

Here is Bill's maiden flight attempt off of grass and more!

I liked my 56mm Flycat. It was fast but smooth.
Everything was great until I flew it into the ground.
I have been looking at this one, but I need to get my Sky Sword flying.

I was able to remove the "H King" decals by using oracal 751 vinyl and burnishing it over the decal. I then quickly ripped off the oracal covering and most if not all of the "H King" decal was removed. I did that to all seven (I think) of the unwanted advertisement on the model. Now I can proceed to assembly.
