Default Dornier Do-26BV3

Hi Water-Model Fliers!

I'm building a 1/14th scale model of the Dornier Do26BV3. The reduced-size plans are from Gene Falada. The model has retractable floats and 'elevatable' rear-motor nacelles/motors. I'm pretty far along with construction, and currently trying to figure out how to hook up the flight battery packs (currently 4-cell A123 packs). Photo below.

Cheers, and happy holidays,

Dave Plummer

Default Really like the doriners

Model looks great, I am building the Super Wal from the April 2014 AMA mag plans, when did you get the plans for the Do-26? Are they still available?

Default Plans for Dornier Do-26BV3

Hi B314 Mec!

I purchased a set of 1/10th-scale plans for the Dornier from Gene Falada (geneplans@aol.com) - I don't know if Gene still has them for sale, but you could try his email, or do a quick search for him or other sources via Google, etc.

Gene's plans lack a fair amount of detail in some areas, but are pretty close to the available 3 views on the aircraft. There doesn't seem to be much information available from the Smithsonian, but there are a few 1/72 plastic models still available, and another larger (than my) scale project described on one of the scale-model forums.

Unfortunately, I just tossed my copy of Falada's plans a week or so earlier (got to get serious about downsizing), although I still have the reduced-size set that I made for my 1/14th scale model.

Have you started a thread on your Super Wal - must be a challenging project!

Regards,

Dave P.
