Go here http://www.electricflyermagazine.com...ubs-page2.html
and look under "November in Arizona."

CD Robert Yeager tells be that a numbr of electrics have already committed. He also tells me that the Desert Hawks club has a growing number of electric flyers.

Default Another interesting Schneider Cup link

Here is another link that you will find interesting. It is primarially devoted to the full-scale Schneider Cup events, but it also has some material on the London Bridge, Lake Havasu rc event and some material on Schneider models that are being converted to electric.

Default I remember that event!

Judy & I were at that event. Our memories, as far as the date, etc., is no better! I do remember that we traveled there & back to Santa Barbara, CA, in the company flying club's 2-place Beechcraft Skipper.
The outstanding memory I have of the event were the beautiful models of the Edo XOSE-1. Although I will never do it, I have long dreamed of building an electric model of that lovely design! (It's the upper-right model, in your first picture).

I had forgotten all about this thread. I did manage to sneak up to Lake Havasu on the Saturday of the event. I had a great time hanging out with the XPS guys, and even managed to get some flying in over the small open grass area with my mini pusher F-22.

I plan to go again this year, but this time as a vendor.

Hi All,

I am searching for a video from the London Seaplane Classic 1998 or possibly 1999. If anyone has a copy, or has a thought where I might find it, I would appreciate a pm at MartyPetriSr@hotmail.com. The plane I am looking for was on display all day when not airbourn. It did win a plaque for best airplane.

http://martypetrisr.page4.me/flitelite.html

In particular I need the clip of this plane during the night flight.

Thanks
Marty

A few years back, I and my son experienced the Classic. Glad to here it's still on-going.
There were quite a few electrics then.....some "big boys" even ventured out and gave a pretty good showing.

I believe it was the 26th event and the "big Boys" were from AMA Charter 1545.......could have been you guys (Desert Hawks RC).......enjoyed the event and social atmosphere.....!

Yes, 1545 is our AMA charter number. We're glad you and your son had a good time there.

This years event saw 63 pilots and lots of seaplanes. One fellow traveled from Texas to the event.

We have big plans for next years event and even bigger plans for the future of this event. Next year we will do another reenactment of the Schneider Cup Trophy Races, something we haven't done for years. You are welcome to join our FB group and follow as we discuss, and plan the 33rd annual London Bridge Seaplane Classic.
