Default eBay seller in Honk Kong this has to be a new record

Hi all

This has to be new record.

I ordered one of these battery dischargers from a seller on ebay based in Hong Kong

It was posted on the 26th October and arrived here in the UK today 29th October. 3 days from Hong Kong to the UK has to be some sort of record, it can and often does take longer to get a parcel from a UK seller let alone from the other side of the world.

And it was free postage as well

Big thanks to the seller lokhobbies.

That pretty impressive and might well be a record for standard airmail... but not a record outright.

I ordered a 64" MXS-R airframe and all the components from Hobbyking (Hong Kong warehouse). It was despatched on Wednesday and arrived at my door in Aberdeen UK the very next day!

This was by DHL which would normally have been a $450 service but Hobbyking had a free shipping offer at the time!

Interested in what price paid for the 3in1 ... as MyRCMart was the usual seller for this item. Most other sellers didn't give the lamps and extra stuff for discharge.

It was 14.88

Most of the others you see, the black ones do not have the extra socket needed to utilise the 3 lamp load circuit. So make sure the one you buy actually says its included.

Here is the seller I used. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311398456356

I know about the Black ones .. I have one in fact. Its fine for battery checks but nothing else.

I have two of the discharge 3in1 jobbies and I really like them.

RCmart don't do the shipping, and neither do any other RC vendor. All they do is give them to the shipping company, and the rest is down to the shipping company and to variables like airline schedules and customs checks. This point always makes me laugh because some dealers (Hobbyking especially) often come in for a load of criticism for shipping transit time when in fact they have no control over it whatsoever.

Most Hong Kong sellers will use the same shipping companies (Hong Kong post or EMS for express) so really as far as actual shipping transit time is concerned it makes no difference who you use. The only difference might be how long they take to actually despatch it.

The other factor of course is Courier relationship with Customs.

DHL here in Latvia is terrible ... they charge heavily for brokerage, they are slow ... and like UPS item stays at first entry point ...
TNT and DDL actually clear for you easily and quickly at nearest customs office to delivery address.

Interested JPF ... your one day delivery of the MXS - how did you do customs to have so quick ?

Delivery to me in Latvia ....

HK EU is usually 3 to 7 days.
HK int. can be 1 to 6 weeks

Despite some complaints by others, quite often I find HK shipping cost to be lower than others.

I understand that DHL have their own customs clearing facility. Down side is that nothing sneaks through without getting charged but the upside is there is no delay, the charges are all worked out in advance.

DHL seems to be sorted there then - not like over here !! They are the worst couriers ever ! Their office is right next to Customs but they do nothing !! If you want them to do anything with this - you have to sign PoA etc. and they must verify before anything. Its actually quicker to drive 3hrs to Riga ... sort it yourself ... then 3hrs back home ... all day job !
