Default Hangar 9 Toledo Special

What a pleasant surprise. Came out to the club field to cut the grass and hoped to get a flight in afterwards. Turns out Alan cut the grass already so I got a couple some flights on the Toledo!

I picked this one up used from a buddy of mine. Flying it on the E-flite Power 46, E-flite ESC, 4s 4000 batt, Hitec Servos and Futaba Radio gear.

What a sweet flying plane. Loops, slow rolls, inverted flight, cuban 8's, stall turns, you name it this is a great pattern ship. I can really see me improving my flying skills with this bird.

Got in several really nice flights this afternoon but the one right before sundown was amazing. I wish someone would have been there to take some pics

For a high wing with some dihedral it is quite aerobatic. Very good mix of fast and slow flying.

It's a shame they stopped making it.

Yes it is. Never have gotten how HH does things. Seems like everything something gets really popular they quit making it.

I am flying this on 4s 4000's. I have a couple of 4s 5000 packs that are obviously a bit heavier. Put one in and checked cg, still good as the battery sits on the cg line pretty much.

May try them to see if I can get a bit longer flight time. A bit worried about the extra weight though.

Beautiful airplane! I just picked one up at a swap meet a few weeks ago and have really enjoyed flying it. This airplane makes me look like a better pilot than I am... so smooth and very aerobatic. A bit of a challenge to slow down for landing, but once you figure it out it's all good. I love flying it!

Yes it is! I love mine too. I am surprised the most about how acrobatic it is for as much dihedral it has in the wing. Rolls are really tight and not what you would expect from one made this way.

I have been able to slow mine down for landing on our tight field by just making a hard turn from final to touchdown. It was a bit unnerving at first as I though I may stall it in the turn but it just kept on flying.

Hangar 9 had a winner here. Pity they quit making them because of the three guys at my field that saw me fly it the first day all wanted one!

Ditto....pretty amazing plane!

I have been just extending my downwind leg a little to give me a longer final. I'll give the hard turn on final a try and see how that works for me. Thanks for the tip!

Jim

Didn't you and I meet at SEFF this year? I think we did.....

More than likely if you were there. I was in the big Cyclone down on the Sport mud line.

Are you the Jim that hung out with Laine and I all week?
