Default $20...Deal or no deal?

Well I spent $20 on what I thought was Slow Stick in the box, what I got was a wing, 2 HS 81 servos, E-flite ESC EFLA100, E-flite Delta Mixer EFLA101, Electron 6 rx w/ch 32 crystal, 1 brushed RS380 motor with prop, 1 new in the bag brushed motor w/pro I believe its also a 380 for the SS as it has the attachment on it for the SS fuse, and 1 9.6v 1100mah batt, bottom line is I am so new to the sport that I have know idea what I got. I did however give my word to the guy that I would buy it so I did. He as well knows nothing about RC and said he bought it at a garage sale. at least I have a few extra parts to build something down the road.

Default What A Deal!

Hello R S,
James and Bill are right and I'll go even further; You STOLE that stuff! Is this the ESC?
http://www.advantagehobby.com/produc...cat=363&page=1
If so, it's perfect for the motors, it's a 16amp brushed ESC. I believe it's been discontinued, replaced by a 20amp version, but there's nothing wrong with the one you have, assuming it works.
You might want to go to the E-Flite site for info on the mixer;
http://www.e-fliterc.com/Default.aspx
The HS 81's are good servos, a bit big for a Slow Stick but have many other uses.
So, you could use the brushed motors, the ESC, battery, Rx and possibly the mixer on a "400" sized plane and the servos on a slightly larger model. They will be OK on a Stick but you'll be giving up about an ounce of weight (for 2 servos).
Conservatively, I'd say you got $100.00 to $150.00 value for $20.00!
That's not a deal, it's a steal!
Ron

R6, like Don and Tom said, it's a great deal. Now all you need is a plane!

Well I feel better thanks for the intel like I said in a previous post this site/ppl are great. But I am still a bit bummed, I had visions of crashing and maybe even flying this weekend. The guy thought it came with everything I would need, but now I am pretty close, still need a cheap 4ch radio that will work with the rx, I believe it says Hitech/Fut J on it, so that means I need one of those brands? also say negative on it, are some brands of TX set up only for one or the other?

Don't be bummed now! You'll have no where to go after your 1st crash!

Take it easy. Get your stuff together and spend some time on a simulator. Pick up a Slope SS kit for $20 and take your time building it . Hit the forums for build tips (SS has a lot of easy tips and tricks to a better flier). Understanding your SS will help you fly it better too. Place and ad in the For Sale / wanted forum for a 4 channel transmitter. You might get one for free + shipping. (I just gave 2 units away myself.)

Good Luck,
Pud
