2 risks.
One, is that your plane will be more prone to
hangar rash. (just banging it up going thru doors and puting it in the car). But a light plane crashes lighter, so in flight, (and in crashing) light is good.
Two, it will not fly in as strong of a
wind as the exact same model that weighs several ounces more. It's that molecule thing again. Most real planes wouldn't care too much about a 20mph wind, but just about any model will not like it. Same as a 20 oz plane will do better in a 5mph wind than a 10 oz plane will.
To me, the benefits outweigh the risk.
