Smile Set up

Sounds good. Might be a little on the heavy side. It will have plenty of power! You might want to put a cf spar in the wing.

Smile Give it a chance

That's the way the wings look. Do you plan to fly it with the stock radio, battery and motor? You might be better off taking it back and getting a Corsair.

You will be limited by what weight the retracts can support, and what you can afford to spend on it. What does it weigh now with everything but the motor-bat? The absolutely fastest setup might not...

I can figure out what mikidymac meant. Where did you get the 38.8 oz AUW for a PZ Spitfire? Mine weighs 24.6 0z with a TP 2100 and a 1190 kv 2808/24 AXI outrunner motor / 9X7.5 prop / 40a esc. What...

Smile Exhaust

I re-mount mine with the screw heads on the inside of the cowl screwed into short pieces of plastic tubing. Then mount the cowl to the fuselage with velcro. Some black Sharpie makes them look better.

Looks good to me. Don't worry about the cowl, lots of flights on mine and no forward movement in flight. Did you ever weigh it?

Best to secure the cowl with a velcro strip on each side of the fuse. The four tiny screws are a PITA! Might be good to open up the intake holes in the cowl. Motor straight ahead should work fine.

I haven't put carbon rods in my Spitfire yet. When I put them in my PZ FW-190 I used a 2" piece of 1/8" piano wire bent to the dihedral angle and epoxyed inside the .220" CF rods

Smile Heavy

This part weights almost a full oz! A small piece of aircraft ply will do the same thing with a few holes in the right place. The lighter you can keep your Spitfire the better it will fly.

Smile Weight

A question for someone who has converted their PZ Spitfire to brushless. How much does the stock motor/gearbox assembly weigh? I have a nice 2.7 oz outrunner that might go in mine soon.

Thanks
