If you are worried about the amp flow rate just put a properly sized power resistor between the packs when connecting them. This is a standard thing I do when I do not fly off all my charged packs...

NiMh packs should not be left to go...

Fast charge = gets the cells to 4.18 - 4.19 and ramps down the current faster at the top...
