WOODLAND AERO MODELERS, between Darien and Lemont, lllinois

The public is warmly invited to the Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve near Lemont/Darien to visit the Woodland Aero Modelers' flying field. Mom, dad, girls and boys can learn about Radio-Control Flying or Control-Line Flying. Maybe you would like to try out one of our training planes using our Buddy-Box radio setups. Our club's electric AND fueled model airplanes fly from 9 AM to dusk every day of the year. In the summer we hold two Open Houses and two club picnics. To get there, once you've joined the club - start from the intersection of I-55 (Stevenson) and Lemont Rd/Main Street. Drive south on Lemont Rd about 2.2 miles and turn EAST onto Bluff Road. Follow Bluff Road about a mile to the northeast. (The club's field is inside a DuPage Forest Preserve District security gate, so you have to join the WAM club to get a key to the gate.) Park along the wide gravel road next to the flying field. Or, for those who like a great workout, bikers and hikers can park at one of two Waterfall Glen parking lots and bike or hike the beautiful pathways to the WAM field! Any questions, contact Stan at 630-654-8476, or FrenchStan@ComCast.Net or see WoodLandAeroModelers.Org for more info. At the field, you can talk to our President Bill Brzostowski or Head Instructor Paul Boburka. See 'ya there!
